In case you haven't visited Silverburn recently, it has undergone HUGE development and, along with a new swanky Cineworld cinema, there are lots of new dining options for you to chose from including Carlucci's, Five Guys, Zizzi's and Patisserie Valerie.
We were invited along to enjoy a whistle-stop tour of some of the most popular restaurants to celebrate the Silverburn SummerDine campaign.
Our first stop was TGI Friday's for some liquid refreshments. Due to my aversion to public transport and the location of Silverburn, this little driver sadly had to skip the cocktails and I settled instead for a tasty, non-alcoholic (boo!) mocktail. My Raspberry Sublime was just, well, sublime... if slightly missing the kick of a real cocktail. Note to self: go with a designated driver next time.
However, I was more than pleasantly surprised by Cosmo where they have up to twenty chefs in the expansive open kitchen area cooking everything freshly. We were given an absolute feast to share between us all and it was all cooked beautifully. I tried the dim sum, mussels, sushi, calzone and the salmon tarts and they were all delicious. I would definitely go back to sample the main courses next time too.
With no time to waste, off to Wagamama we went...
I haven't been to Wagamama for a while because, although I LOVE Japanese food, I always found their dishes quite 'carb-heavy' as everything seemed to be with either rice or noodles. However, I was pleased to see a new 'Chef's Favourites' section of their menu and noticed a gluten-free option; a seared tuna steak served with quinoa, kale, peppers, cucumber and edamame beans. I had to try it as I love tuna steak but hardly ever see it on the menu anywhere.
We were lucky enough to have a little chat with the head chef and this dish was his favourite on the menu too, that sounded like a good enough recommendation to me!
It was so delicious in fact that I couldn't bring myself to leave any so I somehow managed to clear my plate.
I don't know about you but I find eating quite exhausting so we headed across to Pret-a-Manger for a strong coffee to perk us up.... and okay, there may have been a little bit of cake as well.
Upon reflection, I should have perhaps gone for an elasticated waistband. Instead I went for a non-stretchy white leather skirt... What on earth was I thinking??
Happy shopping! :)
Huge thanks to the super lovely Claire, Sophie and Brad from McFrank for the lovely invitation and to Silverburn for having us along.
