I blogged a little while ago (here) about the amazing Hyaluronic acid serum by Juliette Armand that I have been using which really made a difference to the moisture levels of my skin. When I apply it at night, I wake up in the morning and my skin feels as if I have just moisturised and there has been a noticeable improvement in the overall appearance of my skin and a definite reduction in pore size.
I've also booked myself in for a professional chemical face peel treatment later on this week so I'm hoping that will leave my skin baby soft.
I'm lucky to have my on-call beauty expert, Lynsey C Reilly, to advise me on all make-up matters.
She recently pointed me in the direction of Bare Minerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment. She is a big fan of the Bare Minerals skin care range and thought this product would be perfect for me... and, as always, she was right!
You apply this as the final stage of your night time routine. For me, it means that I use it after using my Clarisonic facial cleanser with my face wash and then moisturising.
To use, you simply shake the jar before opening up to coat the brush inside with the mineral powder.
Despite appearances, it isn't actually a powder you would use over your foundation during the day as it actually has magical powers, otherwise known as 100% Pure Active Soil Complex.
This is what Bare Minerals have to say about it:
It makes my skin so radiant that I actually took a selfie with no make-up on. Miracle product or what?
It's not the cheapest product at £45, but you really only need a tiny amount so I think it will last a good 3-4 months. I have the clear powder so you don't need to worry about it coming off on your pillows when you go to bed.
My highlighting dream team products are both by MAC and were both recommended to me, again, by Lynsey.
I love this video tutorial by make-up artist Wayne Goss on using your highlighter to create the 'strobing' effect. I will definitely need to try this little trick with my MAC Cream Colour Base.
Of course, even with the best products or make-up artists in the world, your skin is never going to look healthy if you aren't eating the right foods.
I've noticed a huge improvement in my skin since I cut out refined sugar from my diet. After a couple of days of pretty intense headaches from the sugar withdrawals, (not fun!) it's amazing how quickly you stop craving sugar.
I love the Clean & Lean Cookbook and it has completely changed my approach to food. I very rarely eat any processed food now and I really enjoy cooking healthy and nutritious meals. And yes, I am guilty of posting photographs of them on Instagram! I used to rely way too much on 'convenience food' but can honestly say that I've had one take-away in the last five months... and I felt like crap for days afterwards!
I follows lots of health and fitness accounts on Instagram and I came across Madeleine Shaw (@madeleine_shaw_), a nutritional health coach, after Millie Mackintosh posted a few photos of her recipes.
Madeleine's cookbook and nutritional plan, 'Get the Glow' is amazing and full of delicious, mouth-watering meal ideas that I am dying to try out! The majority of the recipes seem quite straight forward and DON'T require twenty five expensive ingredients only available in health food shops to make a 'simple' breakfast porridge. Phew....
